DIGITAL PIONEERS
Digital Pioneers – your digital year
Digital Pioneers enables young women to approach digital and technical professions. The aim is to utilize the potential of young female talent for the digital transformation and at the same time offer young women career prospects in industries of the future.
The programme was initiated by the Industry 4.0 Austria platform together with the Federal Chamber of Labour and the Digital Campus Vorarlberg 2020 and was carried out for the first time as an AK DigiFonds-funded pilot project in 2021.
Over the course of the ten-to-twelve-week basic training programme, participants gain fundamental knowledge in programming, innovation, creativity, and project management. Through collaboration, they tackle design sprints, engage in interactive challenges, and develop innovative products. The programme is further enriched by personal development opportunities, as well as training in presentation techniques and social skills.
This is followed by an eight-month practical phase in a company, where participants apply their newly acquired knowledge in real-world scenarios while gaining insight into various technological professions. Throughout both the basic training and the practical phase, they receive continuous support and guidance from experienced mentors, ensuring the best possible preparation for their career entry.
The second year (2023/24) was successfully implemented in collaboration with the Digitalcampus Vorarlberg, BFI Upper Austria, and BFI Tyrol, with valuable support from the Federal Ministry for Climate Action (BMK), the state of Upper Austria, and the AMS Upper Austria.
